The canvas becomes the scenario in which the act of painting becomes an event. My start point is an emotion, a feeling or sensation that can be caused by a landscape, music, people, or a person.
I love to paint from memory, the sediment left by people, a play or a ballet. I create when everything has happened and the feelings flow.
SELECTION OF MATERIALS
I fall in love with the materials that I choose, how they react when I throw water spray over them. I observe the way that they expand over the paper support or the canvas.
Resins, acrylics, watercolors and transparent gels mixed with “material “ like marble, dust or sand…… each one reacts differently.
As for the color palette, it varies depending on the emotions, each one reflects different emotional states so you have to really fall for the colors that you create to be sincere with your feelings.
Van Gogh was a genius of color and he explains a lot about them in his “, letters to Theo”.
“Yellow shows joy, magenta will show passion, blue will balance, green goes with hope……”
It is exciting to observe how the color palette changes according to the emotions of the artist or the emotions that he wants to transmit.
